The Doctor's Dilemma

The Doctor’s Dilemma (1958)

Director: Anthony Asquith
Screenplay: Anatole de Grunwald (from a play by George Bernard Shaw)
Role: Louis Dubedat

Dirk plays the witty, detached, artistic Louis Dubedat whose decline in the grip of TB drives his wife Jennifer (Leslie Caron) to despair. She begs a doctor to try a revolutionary new treatment. The doctor must decide whether or not to administer to a bigamist and scoundrel. Shaw’s text does not disappoint.
